MSCA QUEEN

2023-2024 Queen

Honora Tetrault

Greetings everyone!

My name is Honora Tetrault, and I am a senior at Capital High School where I am apart of my high school dance team: The Capital High Cadets. I spent a consecutive 14 and 1/2 years dancing, but I knew it wouldn’t last forever and began to look for a life-long hobby I could enjoy with friends and family. In 2021, I went to my first barrel race and pole bending event, and found a love for speed I never knew I had, as I’ve grown up showing horses in halter, western, and costume. I have always had a fond love of horses, growing up riding and building bonds with these special four-legged creatures, so when I found out I could build more onto these relationships through O-Mok-See, I knew that this was a sport I wanted to represent. Being crowned in September of 2023, was a dream come true, and since then I have done so many wonderful things to represent the MSCA. With the crown upon my head and a fire in my heart, a week after being crowned I went and set up a booth at Carnival Classic with Jr. Princess Lydia Feight, where many children and adults ran Half 8 and Speed Barrels on stick horses. The same day, I went to a 9/11 Tribute and was able to thank tons of service men and women for all they do. Over the following weeks, I helped my sister sell popcorn for scouts and even when dressed to a den meeting for them. Lydia and I joined up again to take our variety of furry friends to a nursing home to spread joy and happiness. Later on, I was able to join a barrel race fundraiser for the Smith family as they had a baby on the way. Of course, I’ve been active in the Helena Trail Riders and Gone With the Wind saddle clubs helping out with the haunted house, horse rides, barrel races, and meetings. I’ve been a special guest all over Helena, MT for special events, including a fundraiser for Miss Rodeo Montana. I also had the privilege to take on the media by being featured on an instagram called past_the_sash, where I was featured, and even had the privilege of taking over the account for a total of two days where people all over the internet asked questions about me and the title I proudly hold. I have lots of ideas to continue to represent the MSCA for the rest of my reign, and I hope to do everyone who I represent proud. Every day I thank God for the people I have met, the horses beneath me, and my friends and family by side. I hope to expand the Montana Saddle Club Association to everyone who even has the smallest interest in speed horse racing, as it has truly been one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I wear the crown and sash proudly when I represent, but at the end of the day, it is truly about the people who stand beside you, the horses who give their hearts to you, and the people you touch. Just remember, “But even if we don’t have the power to choose where we come from, we can choose where we go from there.”

Gratefully,
MSCA Queen 2023-2024
